WatchDog Robotics, founded in 2024 by Ethan Pretsch, was inspired by his extensive experience in the temporary structure and building industry, serving the event, industrial, and construction sectors. During his career as a field technician and technical salesman, Ethan witnessed the critical importance of safety and reliability in protecting people, assets, and meeting strict codes like IBC and NFPA.
Identifying a gap in the fire suppression industry, which had seen little innovation for decades, Ethan launched WatchDog Robotics with a clear mission: to revolutionize fire protection through cutting-edge solutions that ensure faster response times, greater flexibility, and unmatched precision in combating fires.
Our systems combine state-of-the-art software with the highest-quality hardware to create a simple yet highly effective approach to fire suppression.

What’s in a name?
At WatchDog Robotics, our name reflects a legacy of loyalty, protection, and dependability, embodied by the Dalmatian—the historic "watchdog" of firefighting. For generations, Dalmatians stood side-by-side with firefighters, taking on roles that ensured the success of the mission.
In the early days, Dalmatians served as guard dogs, protecting the firehouse and its horses from thieves. This vigilant presence was invaluable, ensuring that equipment remained safe and that resources were ready for action at a moment’s notice. As carriage dogs, Dalmatians would run alongside horse-drawn fire engines, barking to help clear the streets (the original siren?) and guiding the horses through chaotic traffic. Their agility and alertness kept the engines moving swiftly and safely to their destinations.
Additionally, Dalmatians served as companions for horses, instinctively calming these animals amidst the stress of fire response. When firefighters left the engines unattended to battle flames, the Dalmatian would stay with the horses, offering a steadying presence and protecting them from harm.
